As noted in an earlier post, we celebrated a special Mass for life at St Mary’s, Chapel Lane, on Tuesday 30th October. Following the recent opening of the first private abortion facility in Belfast, we were moved to organise this special Mass offered for the intention of promoting the dignity of human life and for an end to the misery of abortion.
The familiar interior of St Mary’s, the mother parish of Belfast. The new abortion facility has been opened just a few streets away within St Mary’s parish boundaries.
The Mass was a votive Mass of the Holy Angels. Fr McCaughan preached on the the angels as models of purity and innocence, as God’s messengers and as representatives of God’s power. As we pray for innocent unborn children, we ask God that we will be messengers of his love to the world, speaking out in defence of those who have no voice.
The sacred host is elevated at the consecration.
The distribution of Holy Communion. Many thanks to all who attended, including a pro-life prayer group from St Mary’s, Magherafelt. Thanks too go to the parish of St Mary’s for their warm welcome.
