Immaculate Heart Bulletin – 2020.09.1

Dear Friends of the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

A warm welcome to all the friends and visitors to the Church of the Immaculate Heart. In the Epistle of today’s Mass, St. Paul encourages us to persevere in doing good. He reminds us that “in due time we shall reap if we do not relax.” (Gal. 6:9). Yes, life is short, eternity is long. Let us take heart and not waste the time the Good Lord has given us to work out our Salvation.

Today, we welcome Abbé Kenny back to Belfast. He will be with us for the upcoming week. We are also grateful to Mr. David Stevens who has graciously agreed to fill in for Mr. Cormac McCool at the organ last Sunday and today.

Please note that we will soon be making some small changes to the weekly schedule. Beginning in October, the Mass times on Wednesday and Thursday will be switched.

“Cleanliness is next to godliness.” We are looking for some volunteers to help keep the church’s toilets clean. Anyone willing to assist regularly in this hidden but important task should speak to Canon Heppelle.

Most of the Institute’s seminarians will be receiving either Minor Orders today, or Major Orders tomorrow. Abbé Andrea de Pascale, who spent over five months with us here in Belfast, will be among the new subdeacons. Please keep him and all the seminarians in your prayers.

Wishing you a blessed week,

Canon Heppelle
