Dear Friends of the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

At long last, public ceremonies have resumed. Thank God for this grace to celebrate Holy Week and Easter. We are, however, still obliged to follow the coronavirus restrictions, especially as regards face-coverings, and “social distancing.” As a gentle reminder: social distancing must be observed at all times inside and outside the church (eg. on the front steps and in the parking lot). This is a condition for keeping the church open, and the ceremonies public. I kindly but firmly request your cooperation in this matter.

The space in front of the church is reserved for pedestrians. The carpark at the side of the church can be used for cars.

Palms will be blessed before the 11 am Mass. They will be available after Mass, throughout the afternoon, and over the next few days as long as supplies last.

Please take note of the special schedule for Holy Week. To help with “social-distancing,” I ask that you sign up here if you wish to attend any of the Masses during the Triduum. (There is no need to sign up for Confessions or Stations.)

Holy Week is the most important week of the year, for it is the week in which our Lord wrought our salvation. In so far as our respective stations in life allow, we should distance ourselves from our worldly concerns and focus on the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of the Lord.

Wishing you a blessed week,

Canon Heppelle
